HAWAII: angler catch a 1,368 pound blue marlin
Anglers Darrell Omori and Guy Kitaok aboard the vessel Dayna fishing off Kona island, Hawaii, landed a monster 1,368 pound - 619 kg blue marlin.
They caught this huge marlin while fishing aboard a 20-foot skiff
This blue marlin is the largest blue marlin caught off Hawaii in 23 years, and is only eight pounds shy of the world record; a giant 1,376-pound blue caught off Kona back in 1982 and 1400 pounder in, 1990
However, Kitaoka was using an electric reel, so even if the fish had been nine pounds heavier, it could not have qualified as a world record.
Kitaoka was trolling two live live skipjack tuna when the marlin took his bait and almost immediately and ran out a quarter mile of line before jumping.
From that distance, Guy estimated the fish at 250 pounds or so. But Capt. Bomboy Llanes, in a nearby yacht, was closer to the fish and radioed Omori to explain that they had hooked a rare “grander,” or a marlin weighing 1,000 pounds or more.
After 90 minutes fight the marlin arrived at the boat, but was too big for the small boat. So some other boats come to help the duo.
It took seven men to haul the marlin through the transom door on the "Lana Kila".
The fish measured nearly 12 feet long, with an 84-inch girth.

WORLD RECORDS: hot catches July 2015
Angler Maicon Flex Iscas Artificiais caught and released this massive 107 cm Atlantic snook (Centropomus undecimalis) that could earn him the new All-Tackle Length record.
Maicon caught the fish while casting an artificial shrimp along the rocky coast of Ubatuba, a coastal Brazilian city located betweem Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro.
After a tough 20 minute fight, Maicon boated the fish for some quick measurements and photos, before releasing it alive. The current IGFA record is 106 cm, so if approved, Maicon's trophy snook would tie the existing record. IGFA rules state that an incoming All-Tackle Length record must be at least 2 cm longer than the existing record in order to replace it.
While fishing the Baltic Sea, out of Rugen, Germany, on April 10th, angler Joachim Ochmann caught this 16 kg (35 lb 4 oz) Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) that could earn him the new men’s 6 kg (12 lb) line class record. Ochmann, an experienced light tackle angler, needed 42 minutes to land the quality salmon after it hit the blinker he was trolling.
The current IGFA world record is 15.4 kg (33 lb 15 oz).

CAPE VERDE: landed a 1,254 pound blue marlin
A couple of days ago while fishing off Cape Verde Islands, Capt. Ronnie Fields and the rest of team "Big Oh" weighed a 1,254 pound - 568 kilo Atlantic Blue Marlin.
The huge marlin was caught on a pitch bait tuna on an 80W with 100 lb line.
This will not break the current World Record of 1,190 lbs from the Azores on 80w, but it will go down as the 9th Largest Blue Marlin weighed in the Atlantic.
The fish came up on a "Black Bart Breakfast" lure before the switch to a bonito. It took over five hours to get the fish to the boat and they had her on the wire over twenty times.
They had to call Capt. Brad Philipps on "The Hooker" to assist as he had better gaffs in his boat.

WORLD RECORDS: world's biggest largemounth bass ever caught
Robert Crupi’s first IGFA world record largemouth; a fish of 21 lb caught from the renowned Castaic Lake in Southern California on March 9, 1990.
Crupi fished the same spot in the lake for 5 days prior to landing this fish, which he coerced with a live crayfish he was fishing in 40 ft. of water
At the time, this was the third heaviest largemouth ever recorded by the IGFA.

At the time, this was the third heaviest largemouth ever recorded by the IGFA.
Raymond Easley caught his 21 lb 3 oz largemouth on March 4, 1980, it was the largest bass anyone had recorded since George Perry’s monster in 1932.
He caught it at Lake Casitas, California. While demonstrating how to properly fish a live crawfish in the relatively deep water, Easley’s bait got crushed and he came tight. After a quick fight, Easley had the fish weighed in on a certified scale not far from the lake.
At the time of the catch, Easley’s fish was the second heaviest largemouth ever recorded.
The world record bass cauhgt by George Perry has held this prestigious title for nearly 83 years, since he pulled his massive 22 lb 4 oz fish from Montgomery Lake, Georgia on 1932.
Perry, decided to go fishing; casting a Creek Chub Fintail Shiner from the boat.
He hooked it and when finally boated the fish, it was bigger than anything he ohad ever seen. Later that day, the fish was officially weighed in at 22 lb 4 oz, and history was made.
On July 2, 2009 a Japanese angler, Manabu Kurita, pulled his own 22 lb 4 oz largemouth from Lake Biwa in central Japan, after it ate a live bluegill that he had on for bait.
After all, landing a fish that millions of anglers had pursued for nearly a century is not something taken lightly. As such, every detail of the catch and its submittal was done under a microscope. After months of rigorously reviewing the application, the IGFA granted Manabu Kurita his share of the “holy grail” – a tie for the coveted All-Tackle largemouth bass world record with George Perry.

FLORIDA: caught a giant size warsaw grouper of 270 lb
The past weekend an incredibly lucky angler named Scott Gettle, caught a monster size warsaw grouper.
He he went out with Captain Tom Boyll of Sarasota Offshore and landed a fish of over 270 pound.
Tom, Scott, and few friends went offshore fishing well over 100 miles off of the coast, and while out in more than 500 feet of water, Scott hooked into a monster grouper.
Scott was able to legally keep this grouper, it is because this is a Warsaw Grouper (not a Goliath Grouper), and the legal limit in Florida allows you to keep only one Warsaw Grouper per day.
