HAWAII: caught a monster 1,226 pound blue marlin
At the beginning of this week, while fishing off Hawaii coasts, the charter-boat "Luna" weighed a monster 1,226.5 pound - 555 kilo Pacific blue marlin to record Kona’s third “grander” of this year.
This huge fish was caught after over two hours fight by angler Dean Lemman with the help of Capt. Chip Van Mols and crew Shawn Bebeau.
This marlin s the fourth grander for Capt. Chip and his personal biggest.
The huge fish is Hawaii’s third grander of the year. It comes just one day after the boat "No Problem" caught a 1,058 pound - 479 kilo blue on Maui and three months after the Kona boat "Ihu Nui" boated an other 1,058 pound blue.
In this moment, Hawaii’s big trio are the only blue marlin granders caught anywhere in the world so far in 2015 end probably in all recent years.
Hawaii is probably the best place on the earth where is possible to catch a monster size marlin; in fact these waters has also produced the largest marlin caught on rod and reel, a fish of 1,805 lb.
Also here have been 2 other Blue Marlin caught here over 1,600 lb as well as 3 over 1,400 lb.

US: caught an huge 106 lb Asian carp
A non official record for Asian carp was done in Kentucky; in fact, the past week a 106 pound - 48 kilo Asian carp was boated.
Angler Bill Schroeder, was fishing during an afternoon on the lake bass, when he hooked a fish he wasn’t exactly looking to catch.
He was bass fishing with only a 17 pound test line.
After over two hour battle the big carp pulled Schroeder’s boat an estimated 3 miles from Kentucky Lake through the adjoining canal and into Barkley Lake.
Here he was able to land this fish. The record setting Asian carp maxed out the scales at the local marina, reaching 106 lb.
US: caught record size striped bass
While fishing on the banks of Bull Shoals Lake, angler Lawrence Dillman of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, caught an huge striped bass.
This fish is the new state record for the specie; a striped bass weighing 65 pounds, 2 ounces with a length of 49 3/4 inches
He fought the big fish for over 45 minutes until he got him to shallow water,
After the big bass broke Dillman’s own scales, the record was verified by "Missouri Department of Conservation" staff using a certified scale.
The fish is now being mounted at Bass Pro’s headquarters in Springfield, Mo.
This striped bassr is likely one of a group inadvertently stocked in Bull Shoals Lake by Arkansas game officials in the late 1990s and now reaching the end of their lifespans.
These fishes have grown to enormous sizes over the years by feeding on threadfin shad in the deep waters.

MALAYSIA: found a giant size arapaima
The past week, an huge Amazon Amazon arapaima, one of the largest type of freshwater fish in the world, was found under the Sungai Johor bridge in Malaysia.
The fish was discovered by the riverbank by a local resident, in the early morning.
When the fish was found it was already dying. He had to seek the help of four other friends just to bring it to land using a wire.
Probably during the huge floods some years ago the big arapaima escaped from a private fishery breeding pond, and continue to grow in this huge size.
the fish wasn't weighted but seem to be well over 250 lb.
WORLD RECORDS: hot catches May 2015
Here the last word record application recevied at IGFA (international Game fish Association)
Aussie angler Tahlia Middleton caught this quality 7.93 kg (14 lb 8 oz) Papuan black snapper (Lutjanus goldiei) while trolling a Sebile diving plug through the Fly River in Papua New Guinea on April 7th. Middleton needed approximately 10 minutes to subdue the strong-fighting “black bass” - as they are referred to by locals - and quickly documented, weighed, and released the fish alive. If approved, the catch will easily earn the 11 year-old angler the new Female Junior record, which currently stands at 2.84 kg (6 lb 4 oz).
This potential All-Tackle world record whitefin weakfish (Cynoscion albus) – a 13.6 kg (29 lb 15 oz) fish was caught near Puntarenas, Costa Rica by angler Alvaro Mora on April 3rd. Mora was trolling a Rapala diving plug and needed 15 minutes to land the fish after hooking up. The current All-Tackle world record for whitefin weakfish is vacant, meaning that a record has never before been granted for this species.
Dennis Triana caught and released this impressive 48 lb grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) on May 4th while fishing canals near his home in Miami, Florida, USA. Triana enticed the big carp to eat a piece of bread, and then needed approximately 20 minutes to subdue the fish. Once the fish was brought on land, Triana quickly documented, weighed, and released the fish alive. If approved, the catch will become the new men’s 10 kg (20 lb) line class record for grass carp, which currently stands at 15.8 kg (34 lb 1oz)

UK: caught a monster size 155 lb conger eel
This week, a photo of a gigantic conger eel reported as being 20 feet (6 meter) long was published on the major British newspapers as:The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Express, the Mirror, but it was a big optical illusion.
The eel was caught by the inshore trawler "Hope" by skipper Scott Govier. The length of the fish was only around 7 feet and no more. Any way the fish was huge, because at the weight was 131 pounds gutted.
Probably the estimated weight would have been 155 pounds - 70.2 kilo. By comparison, the UK rod caught record, that is 133 pounds - 60.2 kilo.
Conger normally live in deep water wrecks, so it is unusual to catch them on open water.
Govier sold the conger eel to the Plymouth Fisheries for just over $65.

IRELAND: hot pike action on lake Ree
Here a recent report update about pike fishing in Mullingar area in Ireland.
Top fishing guide Mick Flanagan from Midland Angling was out on lake Ree with a group of Italian anglers who are having the fishing of their lives
Its good to see some visitors returning to Mullingar after enjoying their fishing last year. This time last year we featured Stefano Balisario, Andrea Palma, and Sandro Colangeli with some super pike from the Midlands. This time around the lads have brought pals Dario Labricciosa, Tiziano Finocchio, and Simone Antonioli on board.
They arrived in Mullingar last Saturday, and are staying in Kerrigan’s B&B Harbour Street.
They return home next Saturday May 2nd and already have boated some huge pike on Ree. Andrea Palma had a Monster pike measuring 122 cm on Sunday last, and it will be hard to beat it for the week. Mind you on day 3 of the holiday Stefano Balisario had a fish of a lifetime on the fly weighing 24 lbs.
