For 30 years, Bob Rich Jr. has been trying to catch a 1,000-pound marlin. Rich, 70, finally got his wish this month with a black marlin he caught out of Australia on October 5 that was estimated at 1,100 pounds. Bob Rich Jr. is the chairman of one of the world's largest frozen food companies and recently published a book called The Right Angle: Tales from a Sporting Life.
In the book, he tells of catching a 750-pound marlin off the coast of Africa, according to the Miami Herald. He asked his publisher if it was too late to add the story of this most recent marlin, and was told he'd just have to pen another book.
