CAPE VERDE: caught one of the biggest blue marlin ever

While trolling off Cap Verde Islands "Dreamin On" hooked and landen one of the biggest blue marlin ever caught in all the Atlantic Ocean. Here the first news we received.

The fight was over 40 minutes on 130 lbs.

Tail measured 21 inches. Steve Keinath was the angler with Capt. Randy Hodgekiss

This huge marlin was 1290 lbs (584 kilos) and it chased the Ruckus lures 6 different times.

FLORIDA: caught an huge size warsaw grouper

During the annual "Crosthwait Memorial Fishing Tournament" in Florida a giant warsaw grouper has been caught a fish over 300 pounds; this tournament had never seen a fish like this.

Team "Jumbo Shrimp" and Capt. Paul Christie, knew what his team wanted to catch big fish.The first part of that plan involved targeting Warsaw grouper.
Their value in the tournament would max out at 100 points regardless of weight, so the team was going to be happy with one around 70-80 pounds.

Angler Anthony Panipinto, lowered a line more than 600 feet into the Gulf of Mexico where it would be inhaled by a monster warsaw.

After 30 minutes of back and forth, the gigantic Warsaw on the other end surfaced, allowing Christie to see just how big it truly was. the monster fish was an incredible 347 pounds (157.5 kilos).

"Jumbo Shrimp’s" team catch brought home 537 points and the title for a repeat victory worth $10,000.

AUSTRALIA: fisherman caught an huge tiger shark from the shore

Anlger Nick Schoevaart was fishing during the night with friends at Cheynes Beach near Albany, when he hooked the massive tiger shark, fighting it for 1 1/2 hours on 80-pound-test line.

Once the tiger shark was landed, he and his friends lift the fish on the pier and took a few photos with the protected fish before releasing it.

White and Tiger sharks are protected in all Australia waters where the law says “upon becoming aware of the taking of a protected fish, the person must take immediate steps to return the fish (to the water) with the least possible injury”.

Not doing so could result in fines up to $5,000.

An interesting video uploaded on Youtube "Big Fish of the World" channel featuring some of the biggest king salmon (chinook) ever caught with rod and line and nice ones caught on light tackle.

MEXICO: angler catch giant 430 lb yellowfin tuna

Robert Ross was fishing off from the remote Pisces Collection Lodge, on the Sea of Cortez when he kooked and landed a massive yellowfin tuna. He was fishing with a chunk bait and landed after a 2-hour fight on 60 lb line.

The fish was a massive 430 lb - 194.7 kg and was weighed on a scale at a nearby ranch, was 3 pounds heavier than the world record. Rather than seek a certified scale, Ross filleted the tuna.

The IGFA (International Game Fish Association) world record stands at 427 pounds.

CHINA: caught accidentally a1,000 pound white shark

According with Chinese-language "Netease News" some images have emerged showing a great white shark weighing more than 1,000 pounds (450 kilos) on display at a market in Zhoushan, China.

The 14-foot shark was said to have been caught “mistakenly” last week in a net hauled up on a blustery night.

CAPE VERDE: first monster size blue marlin of the season

On Cape Verde waters it took until May to get our First huge blue marlin, but it was worth the wait.

Tpè Capt. Randy Hodgekiss on famous charter boat "Dreamin’ On" weighed a 1,290 lbs or 584.3 kilos Blue Marlin. This is what we call a "record fish” as she is the 7th Largest Blue Marlin ever to be weighed in the Atlantic ocean.

The last year (2015) has been very interesting on large Blue Marlin in the Atlantic with the 1,254 lbs. Blue Marlin caught in the Cape Verde on Big Oh and the 1,305 lbs.

We are still waiting for all the details, but the fish took a Ruckus on the center rigger. Fish had a 21” tail girth measurement

Angler an presentator of the "Ultimate Fishing Show" Matt Watson, grabbed his mobile phone to quickly film this crazy jumping mako shark at the end of the line.

FLORIDA: pier fisherman caught and release a big sawfish

An angler n on Naples Pier in Florida hooked into a smalltooth sawfish that captured the attention of dozens of beachgoers.

The huge shark was released back into the sea.

WORLD RECORDS: hot top catches of May 2016

Here some of the top world record catches approved this month by IGFA.

On March 27th Kiwi angler Mikhall A. Cowan landed the second heaviest striped marlin (Kajikia audax) ever recorded by the IGFA – a 211.6 kg (466 lb 7 oz) monster that could become the new men’s 37 kg (80 lb) line class world record. Cowan was trolling a skipjack tuna along New Zealand’s Pandora Bank when the massive stripey struck. After a dogged fight lasting more than two hours, Cowan was finally able to subdue the fish and bring it aboard the Sabra, which was captained by Glen Cowan. If approved, the catch will replace the existing record of 206.5 kg (455 lb 4 oz) which has stood for more than 30 years.

Capt. Mike Mitchell caught and released this massive 26.2 kg (57 lb 14 oz) flathead catfish (Pylodictis olivaris) that could become the new men's 24 kg (50 lb) line class world record. Mitchell caught the fish with a piece of cut herring while fishing the Tennessee River in northern Alabama, USA on April 17th. If approved, the catch will replace the existing record of 12.93 kg (28 lb 8 oz).

CHINA: caught a mysterious monster fish

Some local net fishermen in China got a shock when they recently spotted a mystery fish in the water.

There has been much confusion about what the animal could have been.

The two fishermen were in waters near Zhoushan in eastern China when they spotted the monster creature.

The fishermen say that they have never seen the animal before in the waters.
