This fish is just 18 pounds off the Atlantic cod record, but the 80-pounder caught off the coast of Norway is making officials and anglers proud of Norway's cod fishery.
According to the Daily Record, there aren't a lot of details on the angler or where this fish was caught. But officials and anglers are happy with their cod stocks, and claim that the melting of Arctic ice and the fact that Norway is not in the European Union, and can manage their fisheries their own way are the reasons why monster cod are piling up off the coast of Norway.
