KENYA: monster 1,062 pound marlin caught!

This monster size marlin was caught today in Kenya off the famous town of Watamu.

The big greater marlin was caught on "Ol Jogi II" out of Hemingways Resort by the lucky angler Roger Sutherland. Skipper of the charter boat was Capt. Stuart Simpson.

The fish weight exactly 1062 lb - 481 kg and was boated only after 2 and a half hour fight.

Once the fish ate the lure, Stuart knew he’d gotten a good hook-set. Fortunately, the fish didn’t swim too deep, which would have made for a much more difficult all the battle.

This monster size fish is the first Grander in the world this season and the first of the 2014 in all the world.

It is also the second greater ever caught here in Kenya; the first was caught ten years ago and weighed 1.197 pounds.
