US: caught an huge paddlefish in Arkansas


Few days ago and angler Jessie Wilkes was fishing on Beaver Lake and landed the new Arkansas record for American Paddlefish.

This huge fish was weighted in 105 pounds with a certified scales. It measured 65 inches in length. The previous record was also caught in Beaver Lake in 2007 and was 102 pounds and 8 oz.

This paddlefish was caught accidentally, in fact Wilkes, was trolling for  on the White River arm of Beaver Lake when the catch occurred.

He using a "Walleye Runner" crankbaits in search of some walleye for the dinner table. Paddlefish strain plankton from the water using their gillrakers and rarely hit a lure.
