THAILAND: world record siamese carp of 134 lb

Angler Keith Williams recently fished in Thailand in the famous lake in Krabi runned by Gillhams Fishing Resort and caught an huge huge fish: a potential new world record 134-pound, 7-ounce Siamese carp (also called a giant barb).

Williams was in  Thailand celebrating his  birthday on a fishing trip with family and friends when hooked this monster size carp; he fought the big fish for more than 25 minutes before laneded it.

The International Game Fish Association (IGFA - www.igfa.org) needs to review and approve a record application from Williams before it can officially deem his catch a world record.

Until then, Terry Mather’s 114 lb, 10 oz. Siamese carp caught in Thailand in March 2004 will continue to hold the world record title.
