Ireland: a magnificent 13lbs 5ozs sea trout

Lough Currane maintains its reputation as the premier sea trout lake in these Islands and for good reason. Mr. Sean Smith of the  UK  broke the record sea trout for the Waterville Lake and Fishery, when he caught a magnificent 13lbs 5ozs fish on a Bibio. He had been fishing on the drift in Edry Bay with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com . Sean had quite a battle with the fish. Early on the sea trout bored down so hard that he thought he was in the bottom, as everything went as solid as a rock. After a while the fish took an almighty run and eventually was landed after more than 40 minutes.
