ALASKA: caught a 224.4 pound halibut

Angler Linda Scott, of Bloomington Minnesota, won $15,000 last week by catching the largest halibut of the summer in the Homer, Alaska halibut derby.

Close to 10,000 derby tickets were sold, so there was plenty of competition! The fish was caught in over 300' of water in the Gulf of Alaska, took about 45 minutes to bring in, and was shot 3 times with a .38 special, then gaffed by 3 people and drug on-board.

Linda was fishing aboard the "Grand Aleutian" charter boat and booking through DeepStrike Sportfishing.
