CANADA: caught an 880 lb sturgeon on Fraser river

Angler Ron Jarvis and his young son, Paul  were fishing in the famous Fraser River in British Columbia last week when Paul hooked and fought a giant sturgeon for more than 3 and half hours before corralling it near shore and getting measurements and photos.

The huge white sturgeon weighed an estimated 880 lb - 398 kg, measuring just under twelve feet.

This huge fish is one of the biggest white sturgeon ever caught on the Fraser River and in all Canada. In the past years some sturgeons over 1,000 pound were caught in this world famous river.

After the photos the fish was safely released.
