A very hot action off Antrim coast for Capt.Hamish Currie and a crew of specimen hunters.
A very fine day in the north channel allowed them to go deep in search of big specimens. After collecting herring as baits it was time to get the lines down in about 450 feet of water and they didn’t have to wait long before the usual suspects were hammering the baits.
It was nice to see Thomas White hook and land his first common skate, a fine fish of 81 kg -179 lbs. Other catches of the day were some big ling, conger and spurdog.
