USA: duo fishing team wins catfish tournament by over 100 lb
This past week-end of September the "Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail" was on the waters of the Missouri River in Iowa for the last qualifying events leading up to the "Cabela’s King Kat Classic".
Each tournament this year has been outstanding and this, the final event of the year, left spectators with unbelievable excitement with the leaders surpassing the second place team by nearly 100 lb - 45 kg.
The first place was of team of Billy Daniels of and Walter Blizzard with an amazing 143.25 pounds of catfish and earning $3000. Billy and Walter also captured big fish of the event with a 67.80 lb blue catfish.
Daniels and Walter were fishing north on the river in the Blair area, anchored down on the river channel in aroun 20 ft of water using cut golden eye. Each team is allowed to weigh their top 5 fish for the day
In the event 69 of the top anglers from 7 different states were competing not only for cash and prizes, but the final opportunity to qualify for the "2013 Cabela’s King Kat Classic".
This year’s "Cabela’s King Kat Classic" will be held September 26-28, 2013 on Kentucky Lake at Camden, Tennessee.
