USA: 8.45 lb smallmouth bass


Angler  Tim Schneider fishing the Sturgeon Bay Open Bass Tournament on Lake Michigan, the past week caught an huge 8.45-pound smallmouth bass.

Tim said he caught the big big one on a 3 ½ inch tube with 1/4-ounce lead head. Tim was fishing over rocks in about 4 feet of water.

Tim smallmouth bass  was the largest weighed in the tournament's history. He and his fishing partner Dickson Greg caught about a dozen bass during the tournament, with the biggest biting at mid morning.

The smallmouth IGFA (www.igfa.org) world record stands at 11 pounds and was caught by David Lee Hayes in late 1955.
