A report from Ecuagringo regarding fishing in San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands
"The sunny days and warmer weather have arrived. Usually a great indication that marlin season has arrived. With a fresh new report from Captain Yuri Gutierrez from Santa Cruz island we kick off December in great style. Captain Gutierrez reported fishing Dec 1 and 2, 2012 with clients from Spain Bank 0-30 between Santa Cruz and Cristobal. Boobies, sardines and plenty of sharks were seen feeding on the surface as well as big eye tunas. On Dec 1 Captain Gutierrez raised 6 striped marlin, had 3 bites and released two. They also caught 5 big eyes 30 to 50 lbs and a bull dorado estimated around 25lbs. Water temperature was 69/71 F.
Dec 2, 2012, Captain Gutierrez headed for Bank 0-30 and had a great day with big eye tunas catching 8 fish from 30 to 50 and one fish around 100lb. He raised 4 stripeys and released 2. Water and sea conditions were 3 to 4 foot and very agreeable."
