A blue marlin of 727.74 pounds - 329.3 kilos was caught in Western Australia. This big fish was fought for seven hours and towed the 23 foot boat more than 6 miles, but angler Rowan Smith was finally able to land the largest blue marlin ever caught in the Western part of the country.n
The blue marlin measured 13,77 feet - 5.4 metres eclipsed the Western Australia record of Garrick Agnew record of 703.27 pounds set on 1983.
