TANZANIA: Tigerfish report of November

With the rains arriving in late November, the TF guides and guests have said their farewells to the bountiful rivers of Tanzania until August 2012 when the season starts again. Guests have had their hands (and boga grips) full getting stuck into trophy Tigerfish, as well as  a host of new and exciting species. Apart from a small speed bump mid season with some freak rains that disrupted a couple of days, Tanzania once again produced the goods fly fishermen and women from around the world have come to expect - massive Tigerfish in one of the planets wildest environments!
Highlights from the 2011 season, as always, included dozens of fish that broke the magical 20lb mark, not to mention the countless trophy fish that fell within the 15 – 20lb mark.  On top of the amazing tiger fishing, three species of Yellowfish were targeted as well as the powerful “flower eating” Ndungu (very similar to the South American Pacu). We cannot wait to get back next season with some newly tied flower patterns to drift onto these interesting fish.
